Ford Mustang GT Yellow Jacket 2014

11:43 AM
Yellow’s looking like the color of choice for a lot of automakers going to SEMA this year.

On the heels of Hyundai previewing the "Yellow Cake" Night Racer Veloster a week ago, another company is headed to the aftermarket auto show with its own piece of yellow awesomeness.

This is the Ford Mustang GT , or as it’s been dubbed, the Mustang "Yellow Jacket." It’s a heavily modified 2014 Mustang GT that was born from a collaboration between Ford and Vortech Superchargers. Yep, the mere mention of the latter means that this muscle car will have some serious horses under its hood.

Not one to disappoint, that’s exactly what Vortech is giving us courtesy of its V-3 Si blower that shoots the output of the car’s 5.0-liter, V-8 engine from its stock 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque to an incredible 605 horsepower and 473 pound-feet of torque. This is good enough — we assume — to hit 60 mph in just under four seconds to go with a top speed of about 185 mph.

Outside of the obvious performance improvements, the Mustang Yellow Jacket still has to live up to its name, and it does with a disarmingly charming yellow paint to go with a Webasto sunroof, a carbon-fiber, cowl-induction hood, a new body kit courtesy of 3D Carbon, a tuned suspension and last but not least, a set of 20-inch iForged Icon wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis FK452 tires.

Be on the lookout for the Mustang Yellow Jacket at SEMA next month. Chances are, it won’t be too hard to find.
