Kawasaki Teases New Z1000; to be Unveiled on November 5

7:03 AM
Kawasaki has released an image outlining their upcoming naked beast, the Z1000. The motorcycle will be showcased at the impending EICMA event (Milan Motorcycle Show) at Italy on November 5. Few weeks ago the Japanese motorcycle maker had released a teaser video showing the breathtakingly designed vehicle featuring an enormous rear tyre, quad exhaust and the typical Z1000 headlight with quad lamps.

The new Z1000 has been designed using ‘Sugomi’ approach. Sugomi stands for intense auro or energy given off by a person or object of greatness and felt by the viewer. The current Z1000 replacer is believed to be powered by  a 998cc ZX-10R engine and has ditched the old ZX-9R derived 1043cc engine.

The Kawasaki Z1000 will compete with the KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Both the motorcycles look mean in their own ways and the whole design transformation of naked motorcycles has changed drastically over last few years.

"The new Z1000 delivers an increase in overall performance combined with an emotional spirit which will appeal to riders looking for a motorcycle with a strong, discernible character in terms of both looks and riding feel. We were delighted to be asked to take a 'clean sheet' approach to styling the new Z1000, a naked sportbike with a refined blend of unique Kawasaki spirit and bold 'Sugomi' emotion," said Keishi Fukumoto, head, motorcycle design, Kawasaki.
