6:54 AM
KTM has unveiled its much awaited naked motorcycle, the 1290 Super Duke R on its microsite. Along with the official images of the production model, the company has also released the technical specifications for the street fighter.

The 1290 Super Duke R is powered by 1301cc twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine that churns out 180bhp at 8870 rpm and 144Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission that sports a slipper clutch. Braking power comes from dual Brembo four piston 320mm disc at the front and two piston brake calipers at the rear.

The motorcycle can do 0-200 kmph in just 7.2 seconds, thanks to its incredible power-to-weight ratio of 952bhp per tonne making it the most powerful naked production motorcycle in the world. It has a tank capacity of 18-litres and gets ride by wire system with four modes of traction control – Rain, Street, Sport and Plus. Rain mode gives smooth and limited power with traction control kicking in early, Street mode give you enough power, Sport mode delivers full power with sharp teeth and controlled drift feeling and the Plus mode deactivates modes for ABS and traction control and makes it a Supermoto machine.

We expect KTM to price the 1290 Super Duke R in coming few weeks. Meanwhile, check this action teaser of the 1290 Super Duke R.
