Volkswagen Group’s favorite tuner, ABT Sportsline, has unveiled the ABT Golf VII that showcases their take on the hot hatch, which has performed wonders for the VW Group.
The Golf VII doesn’t bear witness to any ground-breaking modifications compared to it’s Audi sisters. The performance of the hatch has been uprated across the engine line-up. For instance, the small 1.2L TFSI engine that produces a meager 86bhp, now produces a respectable 105bhp. Customers who choose the 1.4L TFSI engine that produces 140bhp in its stock form, can be increased to 165bhp after ABT’s treatment.
Though the Golf is not a high-end vehicle, it still receives a cool exterior facelift with features a deeper front spoiler, a redesigned grille, and a custom side skirts, giving the car a strong stance. The four-pipe rear muffler at the rear is a typical ABT design element.
The car receives a new set of suspension springs, which lowers the car’s center of gravity and gives it better roadholding compared to the standard version. Last but not the least, the Golf is fitted with a gorgeous set of 19 inch matching designer rims that is a real treat for anyone with the gift of sight.
Overall, the Golf VII by ABT is definitely bound to turn heads and raise up the cool-factor, something a standard Golf doesn’t enjoy.
