The 2014 Camaro Z/28 goes on sale this spring at a base price of $75k, but customers who want to see the car in action will have the chance to see the Camaro Z/28.R race car in action this week in a 2.5-hour endurance race ahead of the 52nd Rolex 24 At Daytona that begins Friday, January 24th.
The new Camaro Z/28.R will be built alongside the road-going version Z/28, and it will share the same performance elements from the base Z/28, including the powerful LS7 7.0-liter, V-8 engine that delivers a total of 505 horsepower. Along with this powerful engine, the Z/28.R will be offered with the same helical-gear, limited-slip rear differential found in the production model.
The new Camaro Z/28.R was developed in cooperation with Stevenson Motorsports and CKS Autosport and will enter in the GS class of the IMSA Continental Tires SportsCar Challenge.
