Subaru WRX 2015

8:40 AM
Ever since 2011, rumors have been swirling that once the new-generation Impreza hits the market, Subaru will separate the Impreza and WRX models. Of course both will share the same platform, but the WRX and the WRX STI versions will be radically modified and each part on it will be unique.

As no surprise, shortly after theWRX Concept was unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show, Subaru has taken the production version of the STI variant out for some testing. The model was caught for the first time around the Nürburgring race track and even though it looks toned down when compared to the concept, it is pretty clear that we are looking at the new model.

Rumors suggest that the new WRX will be powered by a boxer-four-cylinder engine with an output of about 300 horsepower - a 35 horsepower increase over the current model. Unfortunately, the STI variant’s powertrain remains a mystery, but we assume it will carry the same 40-horsepower boost over the standard model.
