The folks at Edmunds took the 2014 Corvette Stingray and put it to the test at Willow Springs International Raceway versus its usual competitors: the SRT Viper , Nissan GT-R , Porsche 911 , Porsche Cayman S , Ford Shelby GT500 and the BMW M3 .
The test Edmunds put together is a little bit surprising for us, not because we didn’t expected the new Vette to do so well on the track, but because some cars we didn’t expect it to do as well as the muscle of the group: the GT-R and GT500. Just watch the video and you’ll see what we are talking about.
The BMW M3 pulled up the rear with a time of 01:29.0.
It looks like the "Stingray vs. The World" title suits the video well, given there is one car from Japan, a few from Europe and another one from the U.S.

On the track the best time (01:23.9) was achieved by the SRT Viper, unsurprisingly, but the `Vette was just a few tenths of a second behind it at 01:24.6.
