Audi TTS limited edition has been unveiled to commemorate selling 500,000 examples of the TT. Only 500 will be produced worldwide, with only 120 of those making their way to UK shores. It will be available in either Coupe or Roadster from, priced from £38,806 and £42,320 respectively.
Audi claims the limited edition TTS boasts £5,665 worth of styling and equipment upgrades for a premium of £2,815 over the standard TTS in equivalent spec. Both the Coupe and Roadster versions feature a fixed rear spoiler like the flagship TT RS model and receive bigger 19-inch alloy wheels.
It uses the same 268bhp 2.0-litre TFSI engine linked to either a six-speed manual or six-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission. The faster twin-clutch ‘box gets the TTS from 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and onto a limited top speed of 155mph, returning an official claimed fuel economy of 36.7mpg.
The TTS body kit and sports suspension, along with the quad exhaust system and Audi magnetic ride damper control, are all carried over to the limited edition model. LED daytime running lights, xenon headlamps and climate control are also fitted as standard.
Inside, special Impulse grey leather decorates the interior with exclusive baseball stitching offset in grey and yellow. There are also additional driving aids and entertainment extras such as DVD-based sat nav, Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, a BOSE sound system, cruise control and interior light package. TTS models are marked out with exclusive paint - with the Coupe finished in Nimbus grey and the Roadsters in Imola yellow.
The limited edition TTS is likely to be a final hurrah for the current Audi TT as a new lighter, faster and more efficient model is expected to be unveiled by the German manufacturer sometime next year. A possible debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March has been rumoured.
