2013 Los Angeles Motor Show - Preview

In the current year 2013 LA Motor Show will feature 22 world debut and around 57 new cars, which will begins on 19 November. We bring you a small preview of what you could see at the upcoming event. It is one of the biggest motor shows of the year, and will feature some exciting products like Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, new MINI and Porsche Macan. Below is the handy information about all the cars to be showcased at the show.

BMW- The German luxury carmaker will present its all new 4 Series Convertible, which is larger than the 3 Series Convertible and gets the three-piece folding hardtop. It will be offered in the US as both a 428i, featuring BMW's award winning TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder and as a 435i with the TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre inline six. Both will feature a standard 8-speed sport automatic transmission.


Ford - the American car manufacturer will unveil an all-new 'global SUV' at the 2013 Los Angeles Motor Show in November. It is also speculated that the large SUV will be the European Edge, which is likely to be introduced by 2014. The new 'global SUV' will be the largest SUV in Europe built on the Mondeo platform, and will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Touareg and Volvo XC90.


MINI - It will unveil the next-generation Cooper at the show, which now features some subtle changes such as new headlights and bumpers. The company will also offer two new 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo engine, 134bhp in the Cooper and 114bhp in the Cooper D. The new MINI will also feature the BMW's new lightweight UKL1 front-wheel drive platform.
Porsche - The ultra luxury car maker will unveil at least three products- Macan SUV, 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet at the LA Motor Show. The company's baby SUV will surely be the show stopper. The images of the vehicle are already available on interweb. It will will be the company's cheapest offering. It is expected to be priced around £32,000 (INR 3180435.20).











The other Porsche has already been unveiled, and will make their public debut at LA. The new Porsche 911 Turbo feature a twin-turbocharged engine, 4WD and rear-wheel drive steering. The vehicle gets a new 3.8-litre, flat six-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine that develops 560bhp in the Turbo S and 520bhp in the 911 Turbo S with direct petrol injection.

Nissan - The Japanese automaker will present Juke Nismo RS, GT-R Nismo and new X-Trail. The two Nismos are expected to sport track-focused handling upgrades, and will get the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine tuned to offer 230bhp. The new X-Trail aka Rogue in the US, will also make its way to LA, however, the vehicle was already unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

 Audi - The luxury carmaker will not bring nothing new to the LA Motor Show, as the company will showcase only SUV Nanuk concept. This concept was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 in September. It will be powered by the 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V10 TDi diesel engine, capable of developing 536bhp and 1,000Nm of top torque.

Mercedes-Benz - The company will unveil at least three models- S65 AMG, GLA crossover and S63 AMG at the Motor Show. We have already seen S63 AMG and GLA crossover, and the S65 AMG will make its world debut. It will be powered by the V12-engine, and is rumored to offer 630bhp and accelerates to 100kmph from stand still in less than 4 seconds.

Jaguar Land Rover - It is expected that JLR will unveil F-Type Coupe and Range Rover LWB at the event. The long wheelbase version of the new Range Rover is expected to retain all the features from the regular model, however the length of the vehicle has been increased by 15cm to offer more space to rear passengers.

Subaru - The company will showcase the WRX STI Concept, which made its debut at the New York Motor Show earlier this year. The WRX is expected to house a tweaked version of the company's 2.0-litre Boxer engine that develops 300bhp.

Volkswagen - The German auto major could present two new electric cars at the 2013 LA Motor Show - The e-Up! and e-Golf. Both zero emission cars offer unlimited everyday practicality, and are four doors. These two were already unveiled at the Frankfurt show.

Other carmakers like Chevrolet, GM, Honda and few more could also unveil their products at the next big event. Chevrolet and GMC are expected to present their all-new pickup trucks- the Colorado and Canyon. GM also plans to bring its recently announced full size SUVs- the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and the Cadillac Escalade.
