Though there is no official press release to date, Chrysler has confirmed some details on the 2014 iteration of the new SRT Viper, to AutoGuides. As expected, the SRT Viper will largely carry over completely unchanged, meaning we should expect it to carry the same Italian-supercar-like styling, a super-sexy interior and that mighty 8.4-liter V-10 engine that punishes asphalt with 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.
Given everything in the drivetrain carries over as expected, we anticipate the Viper to have the same 3.7-second run to 60 mph, an 11-second quarter-mile run and a top speed of 206 mph.
Chrysler has confirmed a fairly large price hike of $2,000 on the base 2014 Viper, taking it up to $99,394. That price does not include the $1,995 destination charge and the $2,600 gas guzzler tax. Chrysler justifies this price hike by adding in a few new standard features, which include HD Radio with navigation and Uconnect; a rearview camera; and a 12-speaker, 900-watt Harmon/Karden stereo system. Additionally, the optional 18-speaker sound system drops by $1,000 to $1,995.
Chrysler also confirmed a price of $126,490 for the 2014 Viper GTS, which is a $6,095 increase over the 2013 model.
Stay tuned for additional information on the 2014 SRT Viper.
