Toyota GT 86 Sports FR Concept Platinum by Gazoo Racing gassguzzler

We already saw what Toyota Motorsports and its partner, Gazoo Racing, could do with the GT 86 when it released the Sport FR Concept. Now, Gazoo and Toyota have teamed up again for the Tokyo Auto Salon and are releasing an updated GT 86 dubbed the Sports FR Concept Platinum.
The details are not yet complete and all we have are teaser images showing off a few pieces of the car, but there is a little info to pass on. From the looks of things, the Sports FR Concept Platinum will stray much farther from its GT 86 base than the original Sport FR Concept on the outside and inside, as its new vented hood and LED headlights make a big difference on the outside. You’ll also find that the taillights, 18-inch rims and spoiler also set it apart from the base GT 86.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find a roll cage to keep you safe and add some rigidity to the body, as well as full instrumentation, white leather seats and four-point harnesses to keep your backside parked in those comfy seats.
The real fun comes when you look beneath the hood, as you’ll find the same 2.0-liter boxer-4 engine from the base GT 86, but with a pair of turbochargers forcing air into the combustion chambers. There are likely tons more additions under the hood, which Gazoo hasn’t revealed yet, but we do know that this modded 2.0 will punch out 330 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque.
The engine links to a six-speed manual transmission, and an upgraded limited-slip diff, performance suspension and aftermarket brakes all help the GT 86 handle a little better. This monster weighs in at a relatively svelte 2,751 pounds.
More details and images will be available during the Tokyo Auto Salon, which kicks off in January.
