James Glickenhaus’ Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is one of the most impressive racing cars of the moment, taking the lead at this year’s 24 hours of Nurburgring. However, what we thought was going to be a sliver of racing history may be turning into something more. The P4/5 Competizione is preparing to receive an update for the next racing year, something a bit unconventional for a one-off model.
The current model is built on a Ferrari 430 Scuderia base and uses a custom-built Ferrari F136 DOHC V8 engine that delivers a total of 483 HP and 343 pound-feet of torque. All we have on the updated model at the moment are these computer generated images, but it is believed that the next P4/5 will receive modifications to the engine for better air flow and a decrease in pressure. There will also be updates made to the cornering stability. but the dark carbon black color scheme will be maintained.
We’ll dig around a bit more and provide more details as soon as we have them!
